2 steps to your photovoltaic system project
Feasibility study of your solar panel installation.Your installation’s yield mainly depends on three factors:
- sunlight in your region,
- roof orientation and angle,
- absence of cast shadows on the roof.
Sunlight and weather
Photovoltaic systems can work anywhere in the world.
However their performance varies depending on the region and sunlight : for equivalent installed power, the solar electricity actually generated can vary considerably.
Sunlight depending on weather conditions
Roof orientation and slope
Maximum performance is achieved with a south system and a roof with slope between 30° and 40°.
The image below gives an indication of the expected solar electricity production of the photovoltaic installation according to its orientation and slope.
Shadows or mask effect
To optimise yield of the solar panel installation, avoid cast shadows (trees, buildings, chimneys) over photovoltaic solar panels.
As solar panels are connected in series , solar electricity production is adjusted to the panel with the lowest performance.
